My name is Ruth Moskell and I live Brooklyn, New York with my cat Peter, the namesake of Peter Piper. I'm a multidisciplinary artist with a deep love for fiber arts.
Most of my textiles are created using ice dying, a process where items are coved with ice and powder dyes. Beautiful patterns and color variations are created as the ice melts and the dye is dispersed through the fabric. I don't have any control over what the ice will do which is what makes it exciting for me. There's always a surprise in the end. Sometimes the results are overdyed (dyed a second time) or used as the base for indigo shibori.
